USAC’s NOS Energy Drink National Midget division has a history with Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill. that goes back nearly six decades, dating to Danny Frye’s win in 1961 to Tyler Courtney’s triumph in May of this year.
Just a little over three months since the series’ last visit, the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship makes its return to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois this Friday night, August 30, for the Brandt River Town Showdown.

The Brandt “River Town Showdown,” featuring a USAC doubleheader with the AMSOIL National Sprint Cars, NOS Energy Drink National Midgets in addition to the B-Mods, has been rescheduled for Friday, August 30, at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill. It will now be the start of a big racing weekend in Southern Illinois with Du Quoin State Fair events Saturday-Monday.

Tyler Courtney’s early-season USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship prowess has been paramount, and with his fourth win in the first six races of the season, he became the first driver to ever accomplish the feat following his victory in Friday night’s Brandt “River Town Showdown” opener at Tri-City Speedway.
Brady Bacon will return to a familiar seat this weekend at Tri-City Speedway as he climbs back aboard the FMR Racing team car for the USAC NOS Energy Drink portion of the Brandt “River Town Showdown” Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, at the 3/8-mile dirt oval in Granite City, Ill.
