Who's Racing In Sheldon Haudenschild's High Limit Sprint Car Race?
A field of more than 40 Sprint Car drivers is expected for Tuesday night's Sheldon Haudenschild High Limit Buckeye Brawl at Wayne County Speedway
(Editor's Note: Tuesday night's race has been canceled due to weather.)
Sprint Car drivers turned race promoters Kyle Larson, Brad Sweet and Sheldon Haudenschild are ready to make Tuesday night more exciting for motorsports fans. The Sheldon Haudenschild High Limit Buckeye Brawl is set to take place Tuesday at Wayne County Speedway with more than 40 Sprint Car drivers battling for a huge mid-week payday.
The High Limit Buckeye Brawl is the second High Limit Sprint Car Series event promoted by NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson and three-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car champion Brad Sweet. For this event, they have joined forces with Sprint Car star Sheldon Haudenschild to bring a major mid-week event to Haudenschild's local track of Wayne County Speedway.
As the promoter of the event, Haudenschild is not competing in the event. However, many of the biggest names in Sprint Car racing will be in attendance chasing the $32,022 winner's check and a $3,000 bounty placed on Kyle Larson. All things considered, one driver could walk away from Wayne County Speedway on a Tuesday night with over $35,022 plus other bonuses.
In addition to Larson himself, an impressive list of expected drivers have been announced by the race track. That list includes fellow NASCAR Cup Series competitor Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and many of the biggest names in open-wheel racing.
Buddy Kofoid, the winner of the inaugural High Limit Open at Lincoln Park Speedway, will be in attendance looking to make it two wins in a row. Current Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions point leader and recent 4-Crown Nationals winner Tyler Courtney is also expected to chase the big prize.
In addition to Courtney, the All Stars will be represented by race winners Cap Henry, Cory Eliason and Hunter Schuerenburg.
The Pennsylvania Posse will be represented by two of the hottest drivers this season: Brent Marks and Anthony Macri. Marks claimed the 2022 PA Speedweek championship and won the prestigious Kings Royal already this season, while Macri's impressive resume includes wins in the Tuscarora 50 and Bob Weikert Memorial.
Fan favorite Rico Abreu, four-time Knoxville Raceway 410 Sprint Car champion Brian Brown and 18-time NASCAR Cup Series winner Kasey Kahne are also expected to be in attendance.
USAC champions Chris Windom and Brady Bacon are also expected to race on Tuesday night.
