When big money is on the line, the stars come out. That will be the case during the second running of the Eldora Million, scheduled for June 8-9 at Eldora Speedway. One week after the entry form was made available, 61 Dirt Late Model drivers have already entered the $1 million-to-win event.

The current list of entries for the Eldora Million includes many of the top Dirt Late Model drivers in the country, as well as a handful of surprises. With over a week still remaining until the event, the entry list is expected to grow on a daily basis.

Headlining the list of current entries is Jonathan Davenport, the most recent crown jewel winner at Eldora. Davenport is a four-time World 100 winner and the 2015 Dirt Late Model Dream winner.

2016 World 100 winner Bobby Pierce and 2016 Dirt Late Model Dream winner Dennis Erb, Jr have both filed entries for the Million.

Dale McDowell, who has won both the Dream (2014) and World 100 (2005), has also entered the event. Shane Clanton and Jimmy Owens have also won both Eldora crown jewels, and both drivers will be chasing the $1 million check in June.

2007 Dirt Late Model Dream winner Steve Casebolt, 2006 World 100 winner Earl Pearson, Jr. and 2003 Dirt Late Model Dream winner Darrell Lanigan have all entered the Eldora Million.

The list of stars who have not won a crown jewel event at Eldora is just as impressive as the list of those who have.

Knoxville Nationals winner Mike Marlar, Dirt Track World Championship winner Ricky Thornton, Jr. and recent Castrol FloRacing Night in America winner Hudson O’Neal all have hopes of becoming a millionaire.

Chris Madden, the top driver in the most recent DirtonDirt.com power rankings, has also filed an entry for the event.

Other national stars entered include Tyler Erb, Chris Ferguson and Donnie Moran.

Ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz has also entered the Eldora Million. Schatz is a five-time Kings Royal winner and made his Dirt Late Model debut at the historic Ohio race track in 2012.

The list of entered drivers, as of May 26, can be seen below. In addition to the names listed below, more of the sport’s biggest stars are expected to compete in the event but have yet to submit an official entry form.

The second-running of the Eldora Million, paying $1,000,022 to the winner, begins on Wednesday, June 8 with qualifying and preliminary races. That will set the stage for the richest race in dirt racing history on Thursday, June 9 when one driver leaves Eldora Speedway a millionaire. 

The fun doesn’t end there, however. 

Once the Eldora Million has concluded, focus will shift to the second-richest Dirt Late Model race of the year: the Dirt Late Model Dream. Qualifying and preliminary races will be held on Friday, June 10 before the $129,000-to-win main event on Saturday, June 11.
