Driller Day Is Here At Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout
Six Golden Driller trophies will head to new homes tonight following the Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout.
The culmination of arguably the most grinding event in all of dirt track racing will be seen tonight on FloRacing.
After racing all day Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the 37th annual Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout is set to conclude tonight with the final 58 races, bringing us to 359 on the week.
It’s all B-Mains, LCQ’s, and A-Mains on the docket with six of the iconic Golden Drillers heading to a new home tonight.
Emerson Axsom of Franklin, Ind. is the only driver locked-in for three of the four Stock/Outlaw classes with a solid chance to leave the Expo with more than one title tonight.
Another eight stars including Christopher Bell, Tyler Courtney, Kevin Thomas Jr, Jonathan Beason, Blake Hahn, Steven Snyder Jr, Collin Mitchell, and Shawn Mahaffey in two of the four shows for now.
Let’s take a quick look at the front starters in tonight’s A-Mains, which are broadcasted live exclusively on FloRacing.
STOCK NON-WING: A pair of former Tulsa Shootout champions share the front row with Emerson Axsom (‘20 Winged Outlaw) and Alex Bright (‘20 Stock Non-Wing) leading the field to green.
They’re followed by Shawn Mahaffey & Ron Dennis, and then a noteworthy row three with Mitchel Moles and Tyler Courtney.

OUTLAW NON-WING: It’s an all Oklahoma front row with Sapulpa’s Blake Hahn and Tulsa’s Jeffrey Newell holding the pace. Hahn is going for a 9th Golden Driller, while Newell still chases his 1st.
Some heavy hitters follow them with Kevin Thomas Jr, Austin Lambert, Shawn Mahaffey & Emerson Axsom next in line for the 30-lapper.
A-CLASS: The front of this one is absolutely loaded with two former A-Class champions in Kyle Spence (DE) and Jake Hagopian (CA) leading us to the green. They’ll try to end the 14-year streak of 14 different A-Class winners.
Behind them is a powerhouse group with Christopher Bell, Tyler Courtney, Alex Bright & Kameron Key following them on the grid.
WINGED OUTLAW: There’s no doubt that Indiana’s Craig Ronk enters as a strong favorite in this one. Aboard Brad Coleman’s #94 he’s been near perfect and insanely quick to earn the pole position of the headlining 55-lapper.
Pennsylvania’s Tommy Kunsman is alongside him with the likes of Gunnar Setser & Blake Hahn in row two, then Jonathan Beason & Chase Randall in row three.
