Although the 25th annual iteration of the wildly popular Haltech World Cup Finals: Import vs Domestic race has been postponed until November 3-7, 2021, due to the St. Mary’s County health department’s mandates regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, Jason Miller and his team of legendary track prep gurus have put together an interim solution that will still allow racers to swing for the fences with the newly-created Haltech Hail Mary Derby presented by Wiseco over the weekend of November 5-8, 2020, at Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Maryland.

Miller has thrown out the rulebooks and the constraints of classes and is permitting up to 220 racers to run absolutely any engine and/or power adder they can imagine, at any weight, with any fuel, and on any tire they want – it’s imports and domestics unleashed!

The unique format for the Haltech Hail Mary Derby presented by Wiseco gives racers an opportunity to take advantage of the unparalleled cool and dry atmospheric conditions to truly see what their combinations can do without restrictions over the course of 12-16 passes.

No eliminations will be contested and no prizes will be paid out, but new personal bests and bragging rights are sure to be gained in spades as both 1/4- and 1/8-mile setups will be accommodated. Additionally, call-outs, grudge matches, and special shootouts are encouraged to be run while a non-judged car show will also be going on during the event to allow for non-racing participants who wish to attend.
