Live dirt track racing returns to the legendary Eldora Speedway next weekend with the Dirt Late Model Stream Invitational!
Live dirt track racing returns to the legendary Eldora Speedway next weekend with the Dirt Late Model Stream Invitational – the first live racing event at Eldora since the lockdown resulting from the coronavirus. Set for exclusive live broadcast on FloRacing, the leading destination for grassroots racing, the highly-anticipated race is scheduled for Thursday, June 4 through Saturday, June 6 and will feature the nomadic stars of DIRTcar, the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, and Eldora’s local and regional stars. For the first time in Eldora’s history, the race will take place without fans present, adhering to guidelines set forth by local and state officials in Ohio. This special event will replace the 26th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream, one of the legendary half-mile dirt oval’s marquee events which has been rescheduled and will now take place in 2021.

The complete Dirt Late Model Stream Invitational racing program will be contested and broadcast in full across all three days for FloRacing subscribers. Each night boasts a full program topped by a feature event, with a $10,000 winner’s prize on the line Thursday and Friday and the Invitational culminating with a grand finale on Saturday paying $50,000 to win for a 67-lap race that will officially kick off the 67th season at Eldora. FloRacing will have all of the voices whom fans are used to hearing on Eldora’s PA speakers as well as the multiple-camera angles, replays and live scoring they experience during events on Eldora’s giant turn two video board. Fans that tune in will also be treated to special content and behind the scenes video from Eldora.
Speedway officials have worked closely with local and state agencies for a responsible restart to racing. This non-spectator event will consist of dirt late model teams working in a strictly controlled and closed setting. Access to the event will be restricted to working track and series officials, pre-approved racers and pit crews, the EMS/Fire and track safety team as well as members of the broadcast production team. All participants will be required to follow a defined safety protocol, including but not limited to pre-entry medical screenings, face coverings, and social distancing. The event is being planned in accordance with the latest CDC, OHSA, federal, state and local guidance. All Eldora-owned and operated parking lots and campgrounds will remain closed to the public.
