Denmark’s Ulrik Linnemann will be the first driver to race a Honda Civic Coupe Supercar in the FIA World Rallycross Championship when he competes at Holjes in Sweden next month.
“This is a dream come true! Holjes has always been my favourite track and to be able to be a part of ‘The Magic Weekend’ competing on the top level, simply is fantastic. It’s an amazing opportunity for me, and it came into play when Andreas Eriksson asked me if I would be interested in showing of the Olsberg MSE Hondas in one of the most iconic races of the World RX calendar. I’m very grateful to Andreas and the team that I get this opportunity, to finally make my debut in the World Rallycross Championship.”
Linnemann will be just one of a bunch of exciting wildcard entries for Holjes, with the entry list being announced tomorrow, Wednesday June 19. “Of course, the competition will be hard – it’s the 25 best rallycross drivers in the world, and only 12 of them will go through to the semi-finals, so it will be a tough challenge. But that will only encourage me to push harder for a great result and show that the Honda is a fast car.”
