Bonus Money Added to Winter Dirt Games USAC Openers
Extra bonus money has been thrown into the pot for USAC’s season opening events at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla.
Speedway, Indiana (January 31, 2019) -- Extra bonus money has been thrown into the pot for USAC’s season opening events at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla. beginning with the NOS Energy Drink National Midgets on Feb. 8-9 as well as the AMSOIL National Sprint Cars on F0eb. 14-15-16 thank to USAC supporters ProSource, Hughes Racing, Indiana Mafia and Sandy Nissen.
ProSource has added “Hard Work” and “Hard Charger” awards to the festivities for both the Midgets and Sprint Cars. The Hard Work award will pay $250 to the slowest qualifying driver who transferred into the night’s feature event.
Meanwhile, the ProSource Hard Charger award will pay $250 on the final night of both the Midget and Sprint Car portions of “Winter Dirt Games X” to the driver who advances the most positions during the feature event. Provisional starters are excluded from the bonus.
Furthermore, the Passing Master award, sponsored by Hughes Racing, Indiana Mafia and Sandy Nissen, will supply $800 to the driver who advances the most total positions from his or her starting position over the three-night period of Sprint Car action in Ocala. Provisional starters cannot accumulate any points toward the Passing Master standings.
These bonuses will be added to the season-long sponsors for USAC National competition in 2019, including NOS Energy Drink, the title sponsor of the USAC Midget National Championship, and AMSOIL, the title sponsor of the USAC Sprint Car National Championship. Simpson Race Products, Competition Suspension, Inc., Auto Meter and Indy Race Parts are on-board throughout the entire season as heat race sponsors.
Wilwood Brakes sponsors the driver who finishes 13th in each National feature event. Saldana Racing Products will boost the spirits of the first non-transfer each night (the driver finishing one position out of the final transfer spot during the night’s semi-feature. In addition, Saldana will reward any National Sprint and National Midget driver who performs a "sweep" of all the racing events for the night. The driver must record the fastest qualifying time during time trials, win his or her heat race, then conclude the night with a feature victory.
KSE Racing Products will run through the pack to honor each event’s hard charger (the driver who advances the most positions from their original starting spot during the night’s main event). Hoosier Tire serves as the official tire of USAC while VP Racing Fuels returns as the official fuel and Racing Electronics is the official communications provider. iRacing is the official motorsport simulation of USAC. Roger and Barb Tapy / R & B Truckers will supply a Hoosier Right Rear tire to the driver who qualifies 13th quickest during time trials of every USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car event.
The USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship will make its debut at the 3/8-mile D-shaped dirt track in Ocala on Thursday, February 7, with an open practice, followed by two consecutive, full nights of racing on Friday, February 8 and Saturday, February 9.
Cars hit the track for engine heat at 6:30pm Eastern on Friday and at 5:30pm on Saturday.
The following week, USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car racing returns to Ocala once again for the ninth consecutive year to kick off its season at “Winter Dirt Games.” The mini-series will take place at Bubba Raceway Park with an open practice night on Wednesday, February 13, then three complete full programs on Thursday, February 14, Friday, February 15 and Saturday, February 16.
