Ricky Thornton Jr. Says Eldora Speedway Track Record May Be Within Reach

This week’s Dirt Late Model feature continues at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, where the Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway has been taking shape since Wednesday’s opening FloRacing Night in America.

Eldora Speedway faced some setbacks in scheduling due to inclement weather on Thursday, causing the feature race to be pushed to Friday and the remainder of Friday’s schedule to be pushed ahead to 5:30 p.m. ET.

While the slick track conditions remain a potential hazard, they could also lead to a track record berth, according to No. 20RT driver Ricky Thornton Jr.

“I think it’s going to be fast for a while, hopefully it doesn’t get rough or anything like that,” says Thornton.

“I would say it will probably be close to track record speed tonight, but let’s kind of wait and see how it goes.”
