The fifth and final night of Illinois Speedweek rounded at Fairbury American Legion Speedway on Saturday with the 60-lap, $30,000-to-win FALS Spring Shootout on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
Jonathan Davenport turned back Brandon Sheppard's hard charge on the final restart with three laps to go for his second win of the week at the Fairbury quarter-mile oval.
Sheppard finished 0.192 seconds behind. Davenport commanded the final 44 laps, snatching the lead on lap 16 from pole-starting Brandon Overton, who led the opening 16 laps. Bobby Pierce rounded out the podium. Lucas Oil point leaders Ricky Thornton Jr. and Devin Moran were involved in a lap-54 collision.
