Shark Racing is pulling the plug on its two-week-old deal with Cale Thomas as the Hanover, Pa., team will go different to find another replacement for Jacob Allen, who retired from full-time racing at the beginning of the month, aboard the No. 1A machine.

Thomas managed three races with the Shark Racing team in which he finished 10th on April 13 at BAPS Motor Speedway, 22nd this past Friday at Williams Grove Speedway where his race car went up in flames after wrecking, and then 20th in his final race Saturday at Lincoln Speedway.

The Indiana driver had top-five and top-10 runs going for him at Williams Grove and Lincoln until his mishaps. In a video posted to X on Monday morning, Thomas said "the wrecks on Friday and Saturday are what cut it short." Shark Racing owner Bobby Allen told FloRacing a new driver will be announced a "few days."

"Me and Shark Racing were planning on running 75-80 races, and after three, it's been cut short," Thomas said in a video posted to X on Monday morning. "Definitely had speed. Definitely grateful for the opportunity working with Jacob and Bobby, and getting to know all the guys and sponsors. The speed I thought we had was pretty special and something to definitely work with for the future, both at the racetrack and honestly off the racetrack.

"With my wreck on Friday, I wanted to say thank you to Danny Dietrich (who helped him out of the car before it was engulfed in flames) and to the safety crew, and all my safety gear for doing its job."

Thomas, who started the year with plans to race the No. 49x for Demyan-Rudzik Racing on the All Star Circuit of Champions, said he doesn't immediately know what's next. An option, however, could be bringing back his family-owned No. 91 machine.

"Just the way it is sometimes. This sport is tough," Thomas said. "Off the racetrack, I try to bring grace, bring determination, positive outlooks on everything. Just happens. Definitely looking forward to the future, whatever that holds. Whether it's with a team or gt back my 91 car. I know whatever I do, I'm going to put my heart and soul into this, into this sport, because I love it."
