News broke late last week that Tony Stewart Racing and driver Donny Schatz would no longer be utilizing the Ford Performance FPS410 Sprint Car engine during points-paying World of Outlaws events, shocking the Sprint Car world. As the dust settled following that announcement, questions began to arise about the status of the Ford Performance team on the Kubota High Limit Racing side, which is Rudeen Racing and driver Justin Peck.

With six races completed in 2025, Peck finds himself sixth in points with four top-10 finishes and one top-five finish. He is winless so far this season and sits 102 markers behind current points leader and defending champion Brad Sweet.
Following an impressive third-place finish in Friday's race at Central Arizona Raceway, Peck appeared on FloRacing's "After The Checkers" segment and told Brian Walker that the team's engine program “is not really where we want it to be,” but that everyone involved knows that and is working to get it better.
“It’s not where we need it to be. Ford knows. Ron Shaver knows. And it’s something we are working through,” Peck said. “Hopefully, I think it’s just a matter of getting our stuff ironed out and changing our engine package around a little bit, maybe running some different configurations. We’ve got some new stuff coming within the next month or two. We’re just trying to scrape by at the moment.”
Rudeen Racing announced its partnership with Ford Performance near the end of 2024. Tony Stewart Racing had been the lead team with Ford Performance for the development of the FPS410 engine since 2019, while Ron Shaver has been the lead engine builder for the FPS410 since 2021.
Peck remains optimistic that the team can get his engine program where it needs to be while working closely with Ford Performance and Shaver.
“I really like working with Ron Shaver and the Ford guys,” Peck said. “We’re all saying the same thing. We all see what’s going on and we can all read the data. We’re trying to make improvements, and I know we will. It’s just a matter of time. In the meantime, we’ve been able to fuel our stuff a little bit different, run a little bit different gear. It seems to kind of woken the engine up a little bit and brought it to life. We’re just rolling with the punches right now and trying to make the best of what we’ve got.”
Peck and his Rudeen Racing team will be back in action with Kubota High Limit Racing on Friday, April 4 at Route 66 Motor Speedway and Saturday, April 5 at Dodge City Raceway Park.
