Modified Week Kicks Off At New Home Of Ocala Speedway

A new tradition will begin Thursday night when DIRTcar’s annual UMP Modified Florida Speedweeks kicks off at Ocala Speedway. Previously held at the famed East Bay Raceway Park, the kickoff event will now take place at the 3/8-mile Ocala oval for the first time in 2025.

This year’s Modified Week will follow a similar format to years past with $1,500-to-win features on Thursday and Friday and the $7,000-to-win PJ Wiggins Memorial on Saturday.

The event was previously scheduled to begin on Tuesday night but a poor weather forecast forced track officials to cancel the night of racing. Complete water saturation of the grounds also forced officials to cancel Wednesday's racing.

Drivers will earn points throughout the week that will go towards determining the DIRTcar UMP Modified Florida Speedweek champion. The overall champion will be awarded a $3,000 bonus check to the champion, in addition to checks for each of the top-10 in the final points standings.

Although a full list of entries is not currently available, two-time champion Lucas Lee and Open Wheel Modified star Ray Bollinger are among those expected to join the field of 40+ cars.

Beginning Thursday night, all of the action from Ocala Speedway will be streamed live on FloRacing. If you’re not already a FloRacing subscriber, click here to sign up today.
