Cory Eliason Commends High Limit Racing Officials Following DQ At Perth
Cory Eliason took full responsibility for not going to the scales and getting disqualified at Perth Motorplex calling it a "simple mistake."
Cory Eliason took full responsibility for being disqualified from Monday’s $100,000-to-win inaugural High Limit International event at Perth Motorplex following his victory in the B-Main. Eliason was disqualified for not going to the scales following the race, but he said it was just a “simple mistake” on his part.
After winning the B-Main, Eliason reported to the frontstretch to do an interview with Perth Motorplex’s Chris Mitchell. Eliason was then supposed to head to the scales following the interview, but he failed to do so and was subsequently disqualified from starting the A-Main.
“They said over the radio to go to scales,” Eliason explained following his disqualification. “I’m just not used to going to the scales after the B, nor am I used to having an interview for the B, and then getting pushed in and going to scales.”
Eliason said his confusion didn’t end there, either.
That’s on me. Completely gutted for my team.

It was a tough week, and I made it worse by skipping the scales after the b main interview and getting DQ’d.
It’s definitely not the norm to do after the B , but it was the rule, and I own the mistake. pic.twitter.com/W1yB8MSPmP
“Normally for the scales when you come in the gate’s closed and you funnel down into the scale house and you’re forced in there. When I came out the cones were up and the gate was open, so it didn’t even dawn on me. I just can’t buy luck if I wanted it this weekend. It was a simple mistake on my part.”
The Visalia, California driver was a full-time “High Roller” during High Limit Racing’s inaugural season in 2024 and finished 10th in points, but in 2025 he’ll be running a “true outlaw” campaign with TKS Motorsports.
Yeah I was it’s at random the cars they pick when the race is over. I was picked and then went and did my interview and was thinking about getting back to the pit to get the rear end changed as it was coming apart and barely finished the B

But even though he won't be racing full-time with High Limit, Eliason still took the time to commend the series for sticking to their rulebook, even though it came at his detriment in the form of the disqualification.
“High Limit follows their rules, even though there’s one guy that runs his mouth and thinks they don’t,” Eliason explained. “They stick to their rules, and they stuck by it tonight when they easily could have let it slip and nobody would have known.”
