Busch has raced a micro sprint on dirt at the Tulsa Shootout and various outdoor venues, but has never driven a full-size midget. He'll drive the Lucas Oil and FloRacing No. 51B for three upcoming winter events including the race at Bakersfield, Turkey Night Grand Prix at Ventura Raceway (Nov. 30) and the Chili Bowl Nationals (Jan. 12-18).
To get ready for his first competitive laps in a midget, Busch recently tested at Rockfish Speedway to get more comfortable with the car.

Busch has taken an interest in dirt car racing since his son Brexton Busch started competing in outlaw karts and eventually micro sprints at Millbridge Speedway, as well as other venues throughout the country. The father-son duo has made appearances at the Tulsa Shootout the past two years.
Busch told FloRacing last year that he didn't think midget racing was in the cards for him, but he has since reversed course. He'll make a start at Bakersfield Speedway on Wednesday, November 27 followed by the 83rd ARP Turkey Night Grand Prix on Saturday, November 30.
