Leveraging support from Appalachian Mountain Speedweek’s revival, Jim Bernheisel of Jonestown, Pa., told DirtonDirt.com on Tuesday night he’s launching an autumn version of his springtime Super Late Model miniseries next season at tracks in the Northeast.

The 66-year-old Bernheisel, who in 2023 successfully brought back the AMS minitour after a six-year hiatus, has the framework for what he's calling the Fall Clash, an eight- to 10-race miniseries starting Aug. 29 at Bedford (Pa.) Speedway and ending Nov. 1 at Georgetown (Del.) Speedway. While his spring events remain tight-knit over 10 days, the new miniseries will be spread over several weekends. A $30,000 points fund for the top-10 points finishers with $10,000 going to the champion buoys the minitour that will livestream on FloRacing.

Six Fall Clash dates are confirmed: Aug. 29’s Labor Day 55 Classic at Bedford; Aug. 31’s Paul Long Memorial at Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway paying $6,300-to-win; Sept. 6 at Bridgeport (N.J.) Motorsports Park paying $10,000-to-win; Sept. 27’s Darryl Hills Memorial at Potomac Speedway in Budds Creek, Md. tentatively paying $10,000-to-win; Oct. 24-25’s Keystone Cup at Bedford paying $25,000-to-win; and Nov. 1’s Mid-Atlantic Championship at Georgetown.

“The success of Speedweek is the springboard to the fall series, both for me personally and for the tracks to be interested in it," Bernheisel said. “The background is, in the past, fall used to be a time around where there were special races in the region. Now, so many tracks don’t have Late Model races or don’t have specials, or close down. We’ve realized the last couple of years that we’ve had gorgeous weather and we are standing around with nowhere to go.”

Bernheisel is in talks with eight tracks in hopes of adding up to four more Fall Clash events.

“I don’t want to say (the racetracks) publicly because I don’t want to put any pressure on them, but if you’d like to see your track get a date, you might want to call them and tell them to support to it,” said Bernheisel, who’s also looking for a fall series title sponsor but can support the miniseries through his Lazer Chassis and Bernheisel Race Components if necessary.

“I’m confident the racers and tracks trust us. We haven’t promised anything we haven’t done,” Bernheisel said. “We envision this being greatly supported by this region’s cars and fans, and obviously, we need them to. The tracks are stepping up, I’m stepping up, and we need to have good fields and good crowds to make it work for everybody.”

Bernheisel also confirmed 2025 AMS dates with Selinsgrove Ford returning as title sponsor: June 6 at Clinton County Speedway in Mill Hall, Pa.; June 7 at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway; June 8 at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway; June 10 at Path Valley Speedway in Spring Run, Pa.; June 12 at Selinsgrove, June 13 at Bedford, June 14 at Pennsylvania’s Lincoln Speedway; and June 15 at Bridgeport. A $17,000 points fund pays $5,000 to the champion.
