The 2024 Castrol FloRacing Night in America season comes to a close this weekend with the second running of the Peach State Classic at Georgia's Senoia Raceway.

Ricky Thornton Jr. controlled 39 of 40 laps from the outside pole to capture Friday's $20,000 payday over miniseries points leader Bobby Pierce, who now leads Thornton by 21 points entering Saturday's finale.

Should Pierce finish sixth or better on Saturday, he'll clinch his second straight Castrol FloRacing Night in America title. Thornton can win the title, however, if he wins Saturday and if Pierce finishes worse than seventh or finishes seven positions better than Pierce.

Pierce, who finished 2.861 seconds behind Thornton, cut the lead to as small as 0.151 of a second by lap 31. Jonathan Davenport led the opening lap from the pole before Thornton passed him for good on lap two. Davenport slowed out of sixth on lap 25 and was credited with 12th as 10 drivers ran at the finish.

The 40-lap feature was reduced from 50 laps after Thursday's rainfall that made for rough track conditions.
