One driver walked away with a $100,000 payday and another claimed his first career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship Saturday night during the Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora Speedway. 

Bobby Pierce backed up his World 100 win from earlier this year by winning the 100-lap main event,  while Ricky Thornton Jr. took care of unfinished business by winning the his first career Lucas Oil title.

After starting 14th, Pierce slid by polesitter Tim McCreadie on lap 84 and ran away from the field to claim another big victory at The Big E. 

Thornton Jr., who entered Saturday's finale needing to finish sixth or better to claim the championship, finished third to seal the deal. 

Jonathan Davenport seemed destined to win another big race at Eldora when he took the lead from McCreadie on lap 64; however, shortly after taking the lead his championship hopes went up in smoke as a result of an engine failure.
