The penultimate weekend on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Big River Steel Chase for the Championship started with Friday's portion of the 45th annual Jackson 100 presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Brownstown Speedway.

Ricky Thornton Jr. upended Bobby Pierce for the $10,000 C.J. Rayburn Memorial top prize as Thornton passed Pierce, the race-long leader, with seven laps remaining. It's Thornton's first full-field Lucas Oil victory since joining Koehler Motorsports in mid-July.

Thornton also takes a 20-point lead over Devin Moran, Friday's biggest mover of the 40-lap feature as Moran finished 10th from the 21st-starting spot. Moran entered Friday with a 60-point advantage. After a 19th-place finish, Tim McCreadie exits Brownstown now 145 points behind Thornton's lead.

Pierce finished third after leading the opening 33 laps. Tenth-starting Mike Marlar nipped Pierce at the finish for the runner-up spot.
