The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Big River Steel Chase for the Championship began with this Friday's opening night of the Pittsburgher at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.

Devin Moran held off Jonathan Davenport's late-race charge to score the 30-lap victory by 0.186 seconds in the first round of the now five-race Lucas Oil Series playoffs. Big Four driver Ricky Thornton Jr. rounded out the podium in third.

Tim McCreadie, the fourth Big Four driver, finished eighth. Carson Ferguson and Max Blair rounded out the top-five. Saturday rounds out with the 36th annual Pittsburgher finale that goes for 75-laps and an event record $50,000-to-win.
