Popularly known as The Mayor for being the mayor of Sprint Car hotbed Port Royal, Pa., the Port Royal Speedway regular has latched on with Bill Rose Racing for the final 12 events on the World of Outlaws schedule, beginning Friday at Ohio's Wayne County Speedway and Saturday at Ohio's Sharon Speedway.
"Dylan is a super nice guy. A good racer, races hard, races smart," Bill Rose said in a press release Thursday announcing the news, "and I am looking forward to putting our two heads together and seeing what we can accomplish."
The 32-year-old Cisney has spent the bulk of his Sprint Car career racing at half-mile Port Royal Speedway in his hometown and in Central PA, so the opportunity is unlike he's tackled before. Cisney has also been looking for new driving opportunities after his deal with Wisconsin-based car owner Scott Cowman ended following Sept. 7's Tuscarora 50, per sprintcarunlimited.com's Jeremy Elliott. Cisney had raced with Cowman since 2021.
Now Cisney steps into Rose's No. 6, filling in for Rose who's been sidelined since June 15 as he remains on the mend from a fractured sternum earlier this May. Cisney will be the eighth driver aboard Rose's No. 6 this year, joining Tim Kaeding, Brian Paulus, and up-and-coming drivers like Pennsylvania's Kody Hartlaub, Iowa's Kelby Watt, Canada's Robbie Price, New Zealand's Max Guilford and Australia's Lachy McDonough.
Three of the dozen World of Outlaws events that remain in 2024 are in Central PA with Oct. 4-5's Williams Grove National Open at Williams Grove Speedway and Oct. 12 at Lincoln Speedway.
The World of Outlaws also visit Illinois' Dirt Oval 66 on Oct. 18-19, Arkansas' Riverside International Speedway on Oct. 25-26, and the Dirt Track at Charlotte for the World Finals on Nov. 6-9.
Cisney has one win in 36 starts this year on April 20 at Port Royal Speedway versus a 27-car field. He also finished fifth in the Port Royal Speedway standings, starting 15 of 19 features where he added a pair of top-fives and 12 top-10s.
