The field is set for the 2024 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Big River Steel Chase for the Championship presented by ARP. Following Saturday's Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway, the four drivers who will battle for the season championship have been determined.

With a fifth-place finish at Knoxville, two-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion Tim McCreadie secured his spot in the "Big Four" over defending champion Hudson O'Neal, who faded to a 16th-place finish after leading eight laps near the halfway point of the race.

"T-Mac" will join Ricky Thornton, Jr., Jonathan Davenport and Devin Moran in a seven-race battle for the 2024 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship.

The Big River Steel Chase for the Championship begins next weekend, September 27-28, with the Jackson 100 at Brownstown Speedway.

Lucas Oil Chase For The Championship Format

Last year's one-race playoff to decide a champion has been eliminated and replaced with a format that will see the top four drivers in the championship standings battle for a championship over the course of seven events.

The driver who earns the most points over the course of the seven-race playoff, which once again ends with the Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora Speedway, will be crowned the 2024 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion.

Lucas Oil Chase For The Championship Schedule

The tour's "Big Four" will duke it out at the following seven races:

  • Oct. 4-5 - Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway
  • Oct. 11-12 - Brownstown Speedway
  • Oct. 19 - Eldora Speedway
