Knoxville Raceway's Sprint Car Capital of the World hosts this weekend’s 20th annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, continuing with Friday's 25-lap, $7,000-to-win preliminary feature.

Bobby Pierce led 23 of 25 laps and fended off 11th-starting Brandon Sheppard by 0.390 seconds for the second night prelim victory.

Pole-starting Daulton Wilson led the opening lap but finished fifth. Max Blair led the 17th lap before rounding out the podium in third. Devin Moran finished fourth. Dillon McCowan was the only driver who didn't complete all 25 laps in the caution-free feature that lasted nine minutes.
