It was opening night of the two-day Commonwealth Clash with Kubota High Limit Racing at Lernerville Speedway on Friday ahead of Saturday's $50,000-to-win event finale.  

Corey Day led the final 18 laps to notch his eight series victory of the 2024 season in the 30-lap preliminary feature, a victory that came 4.503 seconds over Lernerville regular Sye Lynch, who led the opening 12 laps from the pole.

Tyler Courtney, Anthony Macri and James McFadden completed the top-five. Rico Abreu was the biggest mover of the race, finishing 15th from the 22nd-starting spot. Making his winged 410 Sprint Car debut in impromptu fashion with Bernie Stuebgen, Ricky Thornton Jr. finished 14th in the B-main, falling 10 spots short of a transfer spot.

Lance Dewease, Kasey Kahne, and Zeb Wise were among non-qualifiers along with Thornton.
