Big Names Racing Sunday's Earl Baltes Classic At Eldora Speedway
Jonathan Davenport and Ricky Thornton Jr. are among those racing Sunday's Baltes Classic at Eldora Speedway after Lucas Oil's Hillbilly 100 rainout.
Some of the sport's biggest names are shifting their focus to Eldora Speedway and this week's World 100 a little earlier than planned after Sunday's Hillbilly 100 rainout at Tyler County Speedway on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
Reigning DirtonDirt.com Driver of the Year in Ricky Thornton Jr. and five-time World 100 champion Jonathan Davenport are among drivers that'll bolster Sunday evening's 16th annual Earl Baltes Classic roster at the Rossburg, Ohio, half-mile now.
The $5,000-to-win Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series event will also include Garrett Alberson, Tyler Erb, Jimmy Owens and Daulton Wilson, among many others. Last year's Baltes Classic went to Ricky Weiss, who will also be competing Sunday.
The Baltes Classic kicks off five nights of action at the Big E over the next seven days, preceding Wednesday's $20,000-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America event and the 54th running of the World 100, which starts with preliminaries Thursday and Friday and rounds out Saturday with the $54,000-to-win finale.
Sunday's on-track action for the Baltes Classic begins with 6:30 p.m. EST hot laps. Watch every lap at famed Eldora Speedway this week live on FloRacing.
