The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series kicked off opening night of the two-day Rumble by the River event at Port Royal Speedway on Friday with a 40-lap, $10,000-to-win program.

Using an epic last-corner pass in a feature that came down to a photo finish, Garrett Alberson edged out Devin Moran by 0.009 seconds for his first-ever Lucas Oil Series victory. Alberson's series win comes in his 162nd career start on the tour.

Moran, who finished second, led laps five through 33 and laps 35 through 39. Third-finishing Hudson O'Neal led lap 34 while fifth-finishing Ricky Thornton Jr. never led a lap from the pole.

Second-starting Tim McCreadie led the opening four laps, but exited the race on lap five because of engine issues.
