It's 70th Gold Cup Race of Champions race week on the Kubota High Limit Racing tour, which hosts the $100,070-to-win Crown Jewel at California's Silver Dollar Speedway for the first time.

Nearly 70 drivers and teams are pre-registered for the highest-paying Sprint Car purse in California history, with half of the field racing Thursday and the other half racing Friday before, of course, all competitors converge Saturday.

Kubota High Limit Racing Gold Cup Race Of Champions Format

Prelim Nights: Thursday And Friday

• All cars qualify in one group: One car, two laps
• Qualifying points awarded: 100 for quick time, 99 for second, 98 for third, and a one-point reduction per position thereafter
• Four heat races lined up with an invert of six cars (24 total from qualifying)
• Top-five transfer to feature
• Points for heat races start at 100 with a two-point reduction per position thereafter
• B-main lined up by accumulative qualifying and heat points
• The two fastest cars that don’t transfer line up on the front row of B-main
• Top-four transfer from B-main to the A-main and tag the tail
• A-main lineup has fastest eight cars that transfer from heat races line up inverted by times in the first four rows of the feature
• Balance of A-main lined up by accumulative qualifying and heat points total from top-five finishers in heats, minus fastest eight
• A-main finish points add to total for Saturday lineups
• A-main points: 200-197-194, etc. with a three-point reduction per position
• B-main points start at 128 with a three-point reduction per position 

Gold Cup Finale: Saturday

• Top-two in points from each prelim night lock into dash
• Next 40 in points line up four heat races heads up by points
• 45th and above in points line up in non-qualifier race(s)
• Top-eight if one non-qualifier ... top-four if two non-qualifiers ... all transfer to back of heat races
• First to heat one, second to heat two, etc. for 2 non-qualifier ... fifth to heat one, sixth to heat two, etc. if one non-qualifier
• Top-four finishers in heat races to A-main
• Winner of heat races to dash
• D-main is lined up by heat finishing positions 12, and cars that didn’t transfer from non-qualifier races
• Top-two transfer and tag tail of C-main
• C-main is lined up by finishing positions 8-11 from heats.
• Top-four transfer to back of B-main
• B-main is lined up by heat finishing positions 5-7
• Two highest points totals that don’t transfer start on the front row of the B-main
• Top-four transfer and tag tail of A-main
• Dash is lined up with top-four in points drawing for positions 1-4 and heat winners drawing for positions 5-8
• A-main behind dash cars is lined up by heat finishing positions 2-4
• Second heat one starts ninth, second heat two starts 10th, etc.

*Preliminary night ties will be broken by qualifying times. Ties heading into Saturday’s finale will be broken by preliminary feature finish
