Kyle Larson is officially entered to race the Wednesday night portion of the upcoming 70th Mike Curb Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway.

Larson, fresh off his second consecutive Knoxville Nationals win, has won six sprint car races in a row and will be the favorite to win the Wednesday night winged 360 sprint car race, which pays a whopping $7,000 to win.

Larson is no stranger to winning at Chico as the Elk Grove, CA native won the Gold Cup in 2011 and 2012. With his prior commitments to NASCAR, Larson is only available to race Wednesday night of this year’s Gold Cup.

Other notable California drivers expected to join Larson on August 21 at Silver Dollar Speedway include Fremont’s Shane Golobic, Auburn’s Andy Forsberg, Roseville’s Sean Becker, Hollister’s Ryan Bernal, El Cajon’s Braden Chiaramonte, Oakley’s Dylan Bloomfield, Placerville’s Shane Hopkins, and Paradise’s John Michael Bunch.

Following the Wednesday night race, fans are invited into the party zone as the Farmers Brewing Co. Gold Cup kickoff party will take place inside the pavilion. Guilty as Charged will be performing live on the Farmers Brewing Co. stage. All scheduled events in the pavilion are free to attend.

Silver Dollar Speedway will host the highest-paying sprint car race in the track’s 62 years of existence during the 70th Anniversary of the Mike Curb Gold Cup Race of Champions presented by Napa Auto Parts scheduled for August 21 - 24. The famed quarter-mile clay oval dirt track will host the High Limit Racing Sprint Car Series for three incredible nights of racing culminating in the Saturday night main event in which the winner will receive the historic payday of $100,070.

With leadership from Brad Sweet, Kyle Larson and Colby Copeland, who together make up SLC Promotions, their goal was clear from day one when they took over the day-to-day operations at Silver Dollar Speedway: "to make Gold Cup great again."

The 70th Mike Curb Gold Cup Race of Champions presented by Napa Auto Parts will pay an unprecedented $100,070 to win and pushes this event to the highest-paying sprint car race on the West Coast.

“The goal between Kyle, Colby and I was always to make the Gold Cup one of the biggest sprint car races not only in California but across the country,” Sweet said. “All three of us grew up coming to the Gold Cup and we are excited to elevate this race to the next level.”

For fans unable to attend any of the four nights of racing, FloRacing will have you covered beginning Wednesday night, August 21. The following three nights will feature Kubota High Limit Racing Sprint Cars.
