The 13th running of the Avanti Windows & Doors Capitani Classic presented by Great Southern Bank took center stage Sunday at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway ahead of Knoxville Nationals race week.

Rico Abreu topped an event record 82 entries for his first Capitani Classic victory. Abreu led 17 of 25 laps and put his Ricky Warner-prepared Sprint Car in victory when he passed pole-starting Daryn Pittman for good on lap 10. 

Pittman, driving Don Kreitz's No. 69K this week, led laps one through seven and lap nine, finished fourth. Giovanni Scelzi and Carson Macedo rounded out the podium.

Brad Sweet started 12th and finished fifth. Austin McCarl also gained seven positions, finishing seventh from the 14th-starting spot. Fifteen drivers finished on the lead lap.
