Ohio Speedweek Recap: An Ejection, A Fight And A New Champion
2024 Ohio Sprint Speedweek featured a driver ejection, a photo finish, breakthrough performances and the crowning of a new champion.
A new-look Ohio Sprint Speedweek had it all over the course of nine days in June. From a driver ejection to a photo finish, the traditional miniseries kept fans entertained throughout the eight contested races.
Let's take a look at some of the most memorable moments for 2024 Ohio Sprint Speedweek.
Cap Henry Takes The Opener & The Title
Cap Henry kicked off Ohio Sprint Speedweek by winning the $6,000-to-win opener at Attica Raceway Park on June 7. He followed that up by winning the penultimate race of Ohio Sprint Speedweek at Millstream Speedway on June 14. A consistent run that included seven top-five finishes in eight races led Henry to claiming the 2024 Ohio Sprint Speedweek championship.
A Photo Finish At Waynesfield
It didn't take long for the excitement meter to hit its max during Ohio Sprint Speedweek. In the second race contested, a thrilling finish saw Cale Thomas beat Danny Dietrich to the line by .001 seconds to claim the win at Waynesfield Raceway Park.

Skylar Gee Ejected at Wayne County
Following an on-track incident between Skylar Gee and Kasey Jedrzejek during the second heat race of the night, tensions boiled over as drivers exited their cars on the Wayne County Speedway backstretch. Gee was disqualified by race officials for his actions and ejected from the event prior to the main event. He later issued an apology for his behavior on social media. Jordan Ryan went on to score his first Ohio Speedweek win later that evening.
Danny Sams III's Break-Through Performance
Danny Sams III made a name for himself with a break-through performance during the second half of Ohio Sprint Speedweek, winning three out of the last five races. Sams scored the biggest win of his career at Hilltop Speedway and followed that up with wins at Muskingum County Speedway and the finale at Atomic Speedway.
Danny Dietrich Returns & Wins At Sharon Speedway
Following a close second-place finish at Waynesfield and a crash at Wayne County, Danny Dietrich took a night off to regroup during the scheduled event at Hilltop Speedway. He returned for the event at Sharon Speedway and bounced back in a big way by becoming the fifth winner in five races.
