BATAVIA, Ohio – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to Smoky Mountain Speedway for the Mountain Moonshine Classic presented by East Tennessee Auto Outlet and FK Rod Ends this Friday-Saturday, June 14-15.

Racing begins on Friday, June 14 with a full program for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series that will see time trials, heat races, B-mains, and a 40-lap main event for $10,000 to win. Also racing on June 14 will be front wheel drive cars for $500 to win and Crown Vics for $500 to win.

The action continues Saturday, June 15 with another full racing program for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Time trials, heat races, B-mains, and the 60-lap feature for $50,000 to win will all take place June 15. Sportsman late models will also be racing for $800 to win and street stocks for $700 to win.

Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship points will be awarded both Friday and Saturday.

All gates will open at 12:00pm (noon) on both days. The drivers’ meeting will take place at 6:30pm followed by hot laps at 7:00pm each night. On Saturday, June 15, Dirt Racing Outreach will hold a service at the track pavilion starting at 3:30pm. There will also be a driver’s autograph session from 5:30pm until 6:15pm in the concourse.

Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Point Standings

Ricky Thornton Jr. is the defending winner of the Mountain Moonshine Classic and leads the current Big River Steel Chase for the Championship presented by ARP to Smoky Mountain Speedway. Jonathan Davenport is just 85 points behind in second. Devin Moran, Hudson O’Neal, and Mike Marlar round out the top five in the current championship standings.

The remainder of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series standings includes Tim McCreadie, Garrett Alberson, Daulton Wilson, Jimmy Owens, Max Blair, Ross Robinson, Clay Harris, Drake Troutman, Boom Briggs, Brenden Smith, Cory Lawler, and Carson Ferguson.
