Following two nights of preliminary racing on Thursday and Friday at Eldora Speedway, heat race lineups are set for the 30th Dirt Late Model Dream on Saturday night. 

New in 2024, drivers were split into two preliminary night groups, with one group competing in a full program on Thursday and one group competing in a full program on Friday. Drivers earned points using Eldora's "Every Lap Matters" point system every time they were on the track, and those point totals were used to set Saturday's all-important heat race lineups.

Ricky Thornton, Jr., who earned the most points during preliminary action, spun the "Wheel of Misfortune" following Friday night's features. Thornton's spin landed on the number four, which means that a four-car invert is in place for each of the six heat races.

The top three finishers in each of the six heat races will transfer to the $100,030-to-win main event. Out of those who fail to transfer to the main event through heat races, the top two points earners entering the night will be given the 19th and 20th starting positions. A pair of 20-lap B-Features will each transfer the top three finishers to complete the 26-car starting lineup. 

Jonathan Davenport and Hudson O'Neal, the top two drivers in the "Every Lap Matters" point standings, are the only two drivers currently guaranteed to have a spot in the starting lineup.
