The Million Dollar Curse has been broken. For the first time in 23 years, a member of the Moran family won a race at Eldora Speedway on Friday night. Devin Moran, the son of 2001 Eldora Million winner Donnie Moran, dominated the 50-lap Dirt Late Model Dream preliminary feature to win his first career race at The Big E. 

Moran started from the pole, held off an early challenge from defending Dream winner Jonathan Davenport and pulled away late to score the elusive victory.

Dale McDowell emerged from a spirited battle with Brandon Sheppard and Jonathan Davenport to claim the runner-up position. Sheppard, the 2023 Dirt Track World Championship winner at Eldora, completed the podium. 

Davenport finished fourth and Nick Hoffman completed the top five. Full results from Friday's preliminary feature can be viewed at the bottom of this story. 

Results from Thursday and Friday's preliminary action will set the lineup for Saturday's all-important heat races.
