Joel Meyers Jr. Lands New Ride In Midwest For Major Races
Joel Meyers Jr. is set to make his Kubota High Limit Racing debut at Lawrenceburg Speedway. This summer he's moved to the Midwest to chase a dream.
Already planning the move to the Midwest in his family-owned car this summer, Joel Meyers Jr. has now teamed up with Brodie Hayward and Hayward Motorsports to drive the No. 19 Shiti Cooler machine at select races in 2024.
The new duo will kick things off Monday night at Fremont Speedway with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. From there, the plan is for "JMJ" to make his Kubota High Limit Racing debut next Friday night, May 31 at Lawrenceburg Speedway.
“I am super excited for the opportunity to team with Brodie Hayward, SHITI Coolers, and everyone involved at Hayward Motorsports,” Joel Myers Jr told Petersen Media. “Brodie Hayward has been such an asset to motorsports, I'm really excited to work with him and his team and can’t wait to get going on Monday.”
Meyers Jr. had a stellar season in New Zealand racing during the U.S offseason, winning the NZ title and the $23,000 Gold Cup Championship. He made 12 starts and won seven of them. He scored seven wins in the states in 2023, making a month-long tour through the Midwest in the late summer running a handful of IRA races.
Meyers was recently named to FloRacing's 20 Under 20 list for racing's top prospects under the age of 20.
“Our first two races are definitely going to be challenging, but I think taking on the best is a great way for us to really push our limits together,” Myers Jr added. “It is a challenge that I am looking forward to.”
“I also want to give a huge shoutout to my family for their support in bringing our equipment to the Midwest, and my partners for supporting this new endeavor with the Hayward Motorsports team."
The rest of Joel Meyers Jr. and Hayward Motorsports schedule is fluid throughout the summer, as is the schedule for his family-owned team.
