The 18th running of the Rio Grande Waste Systems Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts at New Mexico's Vado Speedway Park completed the second round of the six-race miniseries on Sunday.

Bobby Pierce powered his way to the $11,000 prize from the pole, but it was far from a carefree dash to victory. The Oakwood, Ill., superstar flipped the script on Mike Marlar's flawless night, landing a mega slider on the race-long leader with three laps to go and driving off for a 2.167-second victory.

It's Pierce's ninth career Wild West Shootout victory, tying Jonathan Davenport for third all-time. Marlar led laps two through 36 and turned back multiple challenges from Kyle Larson throughout the feature. Garrett Alberson started 15th and finished sixth. Nineteen cars finished on the lead lap with 23 drivers running at the feature finish.
