Tanner Holmes In Shark Racing No. 1A For Rest Of Season
Tanner Holmes will drive the Shark Racing No. 1A the rest of the season, starting Tuesday with the High Limit Sprint Car Series at Huset's Speedway.
Tanner Holmes has been the named the driver of Shark Racing's No. 1A Sprint Car for the rest of the 2023 season, beginning with Tuesday's High Limit Sprint Car Series event at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, S.D.
Excited to announce that I will be piloting the @sharkracingWoO #1A tomorrow with @HighLimitRacing @HusetsSpeedway and for the remainder of the 2023 @WorldofOutlaws schedule. This is an unbelievable opportunity and I can’t wait to work with Bobby Allen and his crew! pic.twitter.com/DQCsBfQ5lb

The 20-year-old Holmes is a four-time winner in a 360 Sprint Car on the West Coast this year and replaces Jacob Allen, the team's primary driver along with Logan Schuchart. In addition to Tuesday's race at Huset's, Holmes will be behind the wheel of the No. 1A for the remainder of the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series season.
Allen has cited in a recent Facebook post that he needs a break from the grind of racing on the road that's taken a toll on him.
Holmes recently attempted to qualify for this past Saturday's 62nd running of the Knoxville Nationals, but finished seventh in the C-Main.
He did go sixth-fastest in time trials on Thursday's qualifying night, but couldn't overcome the prestigious event's mega eight-car invert, finishing seventh in the heat race and making his Knoxville Nationals all the more difficult.
The Oregon native will get up to speed with the Pennsylvania-based Shark Racing team on Tuesday with the High Limit Sprint Car Series live on FloRacing. Holmes has two races under his belt at Huset's Speedway this year, seventh- and fourth-place finishes in a pair of weekly programs on July 16 and July 30.
