One of the biggest spectacles of doorslammer drag racing, the FuelTech Shakedown Nationals, is returning to Virginia Motorsports Park on May 11-13 for its 21st running. Featuring some of the biggest names in heads-up outlaw racing from around the globe, Shakedown promises to once again raise the bar for both big tire quarter-mile and small tire eighth-mile action with more than $63,000 on the line.

The new May dates bring a unique spring flare to the FuelTech Shakedown Nationals XXI, along with the addition of a new, exhibition-style, quarter-mile Pro Modified Money Shot program which lets the world’s quickest and fastest Pro Mod racers run as hard as they can out the back door as they attempt to claim the $10,000 prize for the lowest elapsed time between Friday and Saturday.

Fans will also love watching drivers battle head-to-head for the $10,000-to-win purse in Xtreme Front Wheel Drive (XFWD) as the import-centric class returns to the event for the first time in several years. Other fan-favorite classes, such as Pro Street and Super Street, will entice the PDRA’s finest stars to chase even larger payouts than usual. Additionally, other classes such as Real Street, 4.60 Bike, Top Dragster, and a variety of index classes help fill the weekend with competitive and challenging sportsman drag racing.
