Justin Grant Holds On For USAC Spring Showdown Win At Tri-State Speedway
Justin Grant held off Kevin Thomas Jr. to win his first USAC National Sprint Car Series feature of 2023 in the Spring Showdown at Tri-State Speedway.
The USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship season continued Saturday with a stop at Southern Indiana's Tri-State Speedway for the Spring Showdown. Defending USAC Sprint Car champion Justin Grant drove from his sixth-place starting spot to the lead in 10 laps and never looked back en route to claiming the victory.
Grant used the bottom of turn two to rocket past Jadon Rogers who led the first 10 circuits and pulled away from the field, leading the remaining 20 laps to secure his first USAC National Sprint Car victory of 2023. Kevin Thomas Jr charged late to put pressure on Grant before ultimately finishing second. Kyle Cummins drove from seventh to finish third.
Winning Quote From Justin Grant
"Lap traffic was really thick but also some really good cars. It was hard to dispose of them quickly. With five or six laps to go I thought I maybe needed to move up a lane and was just waiting to hear someone out there. I really come to love this place and just have a lot of fun coming here."
