Two-Time NASCAR Cup Champ Kyle Busch Returning To Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout
Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch, and his son, Brexton Busch, are headed back to Oklahoma to run the Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout once again.
For the second year in a row, two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is heading to Tulsa, Oklahoma to sling some dirt at the Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout December 26-31. This year Busch will be competing in the Winged Outlaw and Non-Wing Outlaw divisions. He’ll be joined once again by his son, Brexton, who will be competing in Junior Sprints.
Last year Busch surprised the whole racing community when he announced that he was going to take part in the Tulsa Shootout. He competed in all four divisions last year, and put in a thrilling performance when he went from eighth to first to win his heat race in the Micro division.

Since competing in last year's Shootout, Busch went on to win the second NASCAR Cup race on dirt at Bristol Motor Speedway this year, and he also picked up a feature win in a Micro Sprint at the Port City Raceway as well.
Busch is hoping to pick up in Tulsa where he left off at Port City earlier this year.
His seven-year-old son, Brexton, also narrowly missed qualifying for the Saturday A-Main in his division last year. After winning his C-Main, Busch drove from 13th to fourth in the B-Main. It was quite the performance, but unfortunately for Busch only the top two transferred out of the B-Main.
Tulsa Shootout promoters made the offer for a promoter’s provisional to Brexton Busch to allow him to still race in the A-Main, but that offer was declined. Brexton Busch then tweeted that he “will return next year to race my way in!”
What an awesome time running in my first ever @TulsaShootout!! Won my C-Main & drove from 13th to 4th in B-Main.

The Shootout promoters extended me a provisional invite to run the A-Main, but I politely declined, and will return next year to race my way in! pic.twitter.com/1hZb4pvvET
