Tyler Courtney Clinches USAC National Midget Title
With a 171-point leader entering the final two events of the season, Tyler Courtney has clinched the 2019 USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget title.
Following his first USAC National championship with the AMSOIL National Sprint Cars in 2018, Tyler Courtney has clinched the 2019 USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget title for Clauson/Marshall Racing, who, in turn has wrapped up the series’ owner title.

With a maximum of 160 points available for the next two events on Nov. 23 at California's Bakersfield Speedway and Nov. 28 at California's Ventura Raceway, Courtney’s lead of 171 is enough to lock up the championship and collect a second prong of the coveted triple crown with USAC’s national series.
It’s been a banner year for the 25-year-old Indianapolis, Ind. driver who’s led the standings for the duration of the 2019 season following two-straight victories in the first two events of the year at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla.
He leads in nearly every statistical category with the series, including wins (8), laps led (175), top-fives (20) and top-tens (25) to go along with seven fast qualifying times and heat race wins in 28 starts.

Courtney’s Wayne City, Ill. victory in October was his eighth and most recent of the season, a number which makes him the first driver since Jeff Gordon in 1990 to win at least that many races in a single USAC National Midget season.
