With only one week left in the 2017 World of Outlaws season, breaking news is shifting to the start of 2018: the World Racing Group just announced that the DIRTCar Nationals have been extended.

The 47th annual DIRTCar Nationals will now run from February 6th through the 17th.

The DIRTCar Nationals will take place at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, FL. The track is a quick high-banked, half-mile oval, with the tagline of the “World’s Fastest Half Mile”.

The recently extended program will start with Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions running first with full features on Wednesday February 7 and Thursday the 8th. The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will then host their races during the first weekend of the calendar, with full events on the 9th through the 11th. DIRTCar UMP Modifieds will join the Sprints on Friday the 9th for triple, 20-lap features.

Super DIRTCar series Big Block Modifieds will run five days from Monday February 12 until the final night of Friday the 17th. The World of Outlaws Late Models will be in action from Tuesday until the finale.

In each series’ respective final night, the drivers will be racing for the Big Gator, one of the most coveted trophies of the season.  In 2017, Nick Hoffman took it home in UMP Modifieds, David Gravel in Sprints, Brett Hearn in Super DIRTcar Big Blocks, and Shane Clanton in Late Models.

Unique to the track and event, every ticket doubles as a hot pass for fans to meet their favorite drivers and get as close to the action as possible. The DIRTcar Nationals are known as the most accessible auto racing event in the state.
