The Week in Sprints: The Outlaws Escape The Pennsylvania Posse
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series was the only ones in action last week, but they filled the calendar with excitement by taking on the famed Pennsylvania Posse.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series was the only one in action last week, but it put on a whale of a show.
The Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA, fell into last week's Week in Sprint Car schedule, but it kicked off a three-night show against the famed Pennsylvania Posse. Typically, the Outlaws have a huge challenge racing against these talented locals who know their way around the track better than the invaders. However, that was not the case this time around.
Outlaws swept the top two positions in all three nights with David Gravel winning at Lincoln ahead of Daryn Pittman. Gravel won two in a row at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA, ahead of Donny Schatz. And finally, Shane Stewart scored his first Outlaw win of the season ahead of Pittman in the Morgan Cup at Williams Grove.
The Posse were hot on their trail, however, with third-place finishes each night. Danny Dietrich took that spot at Lincoln, with Freddie Rahmer Jr. scoring a third in night one at Williams Grove and Tim Shaffer grabbing third in the Morgan Cup.
The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions tried to race, but Mother Nature simply would not cooperate. All three nights of its scheduled action was either canceled or postponed.
Major Story: For the second straight night, the Outlaw Gravel outran the Pennsylvania Posse by leading flag to flag.

Major Story: The Pennsylvania Posse had the Outlaws in hand for the first 11 laps until Stewart took advantage of TJ Stutts on a lap-11 restart to lead the rest of the way in the Morgan Cup at Williams Grove Speedway.
