Three Winners In Three Lucas Oil Races Highlight This Week In Late Models
Rain canceled several events this week in dirt late model action, but there was still plenty of action as the season begins to heat up.
Rain danced around the country last week, but somehow the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series managed to squeeze three shows into the books. In three nights of racing, it put three different drivers in Victory Lane, but the most dramatic of these might well have been Rich Eckert at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, PA. On his home state track, he snapped a 12-year winless streak.
Billy Moyer Jr. earned his second career Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series victory of the season at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS. That also happens to be the second of his career.
Almost every major series had races canceled because of rain. The rain has so permeated the ground, in fact, that several events scheduled for this coming weekend were canceled in anticipation of unsuccessful track preparation.
Major Story: Lanigan did not take the lead of this until lap 50, but that was all he needed to win the $10,700 payday.
