Opening night of the Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway took place Thursday with a pair of 25-lap, $5,000-to-win semifeatures, preliminary action that preludes Saturday's 100-lap, $50,000-to-win finale.

Continuing their winning ways, Ricky Thornton Jr. and Jonathan Davenport both grabbed semifeature victories, having now won 10 of the last 12 events on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series back to March 24 at Ohio's Atomic Speedway.

Davenport and Thornton each led all 25 laps. Devin Moran and Gregg Satterlee both dropped out of the race while second in the closing laps, with Moran's right-rear tire giving out on him with three laps left in the first semifeature and Satterlee slowing out of the race with five laps left of the second semifeature.

Mike Marlar and Garrett Alberson rounded out the podium in the first semifeature while Chub Frank and Drake Troutman completed the podium in the second semifeature.
