Eighty-five cars signed in for the $20,000-to-win program that started on schedule with practice sessions at 6 p.m. despite showers that struck early in the afternoon. But rain returned just before time trials hit the track and created a deluge that left the surface too saturated for competition.
Track and series officials are discussing a new date for the event. Attendees were told to keep that tickets and armbands in anticipation of the show’s potential rescheduling. An announcement is likely next week.
Eldora’s big week of action will now kick off Thursday with the first of two $25,000-to-win preliminary programs for Dream XXX. The 100-lap Dream finale paying $100,030-to-win is set for Saturday.
