It was opening night of the Heartland of America Showdown on Friday at Lakeside Speedway ahead of Kubota High Limit Racing's first $50,000-to-win program of the year.

Brad Sweet notched his third series victory of the year by leading 14 of 25 laps while holding off points leader Tyler Courtney, who finished 2.818 seconds behind the five-time World of Outlaws champion.

Reigning High Limit Midweek Series champion Kyle Larson rounded out the podium with his charge from the 12th-starting spot to finish third. Pole-starting Austin McCarl led the opening five laps but faded to finish fifth.

Spencer Bayston was the biggest mover of the night, starting 23rd to finish eighth.
