An Early Look At The World 100 Entry List At Eldora Speedway
The entry list for the 2023 World 100 at Eldora Speedway, at 68 registrants as of September 1, is only expected to grow.
With the 53rd running of the World 100 less than a week away at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, here's an early look at the prestigious event's entry list, which sits at 68 registrants as of Friday, Sept. 1.
Dirt Late Model racing's premier Crown Jewel drew 107 drivers and teams to the Tony Stewart-owned oval last fall, so expect the entry list to grow as the Sept. 7-9 event live on FloRacing nears. The World 100 roster is led by none other than Eldora rulers Jonathan Davenport and Brandon Overton, winners of six of the last eight globed trophies dating back to 2015.

DirtonDirt.com's top-ranked driver Bobby Pierce, the 2016 winner of the World 100, and Tim McCreadie, the '18 victor, are the lone outliers over that span. Pierce is one of those early registrants, while McCreadie's name has yet to be preregistered, but of course he'll be in attendance to vie for a second World 100 title.

Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series points leader Ricky Thornton Jr. is in prime position to win his first World 100, riding the strength of a single-season record 16 series wins in 42 of the tour's features this year. The ageless Dale McDowell, two weeks removed from his spectacular Topless 100 victory at Batesville Motor Speedway in Arkansas, can add a second World 100 title alongside his 2005 victory in the event.
Other Lucas Oil Series travelers on the early World 100 entry list include Daulton Wilson, Devin Moran, Earl Pearson Jr., Garrett Alberson, and Hudson O'Neal.
The World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series is represented by Brian Shirley, Chris Madden, Dennis Erb Jr., Kyle Bronson, Nick Hoffman, Shane Clanton, and Tanner English. This is, surprisingly, English's first World 100 appearance.
Regional standouts among the current 68-driver roster include Chris Ferguson of Mount Holly, N.C., Dona Marcoullier of Houghton Lake, Mich., Gregg Satterlee of Indiana, Pa., Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., Joseph Joiner of Milton, Fla., Josh Rice of Verona, Ky., and Tyler Carpenter of Parkersburg, W.Va.
Drivers making World 100 debuts: Benji Hicks, Donna Jeschke, Freddie Carpenter, Haiden Cowan, Jeremy Cropper, Jordan Koehler, Josh Dietz, Justin Cooper, Matt Cosner, Mike Bargo, Richie Stephens, Rusty Hatfield, English, Tristan Chamberlain, Tyler Carpenter, Will Roland and William Phillips.
