Tim McCreadie Steals The North/South 100 From Scott Bloomquist

Tim McCreadie found a high groove that Scott Bloomquist did not know existed and stole the North/South 100 in the final three laps on Saturday night at Florence Speedway in Union, KY.
McCreadie took a late-race opportunity to pass the leader with three laps remaining, and Bobby Pierce followed him through.
This was McCreadie's first win at Florence. In his post-race interview, he applauded the professionalism of Pierce and how they used each other to run by Bloomquist.
"I think we all have learned a lot from Bobby (Pierce)," McCreadie said. "If there is something out there you need to run it. Bobby and I probably raced a bit too clean; we had an issue at the Show-Me. I appreciate that he ran me clean. He is turning into a true professional. He could have raced me dirty, but he didn't."
Pierce also spoke of the Show-Me incident in which he rubbed up on McCreadie and secured the lead as McCreadie fell to third in that race.
"Congrats to McCreadie on the win. That is what you call racing," Pierce said. "A few months ago at the Show-Me, I kind of rubbed him a little bit. He wasn't happy about that. Tonight we were duking it out, and we kind of came up through the field like teammates there. It's like we were drafting off each other. Last year, there was a lot of cushion to use as compared to this year, so it made it a little tougher."
Jimmy Owens led the first 17 laps of the race before Bloomquist made the final pass. He fell to third for the majority of the night before settling in the fourth position at the wave of the checkered flag. The top four in the feature all won one of their heats on Friday night. Darrell Lanigan ran well all night and finished fifth.
Zack Dohm was the Hard Charger of the night. After narrowly missing the advance into the A from his heat points on Friday night, he had to make it through a B-Main. Dohm won his B-Main to start 17th in the feature and then maneuvered climbed 10 spots for a seventh-place finish. He was the highest-finishing driver that had to transfer into the race.
Bloomquist finished second in the North/South 100 in three consecutive years prior to this weekend's running. He broke that streak but not in the way that he hoped. The last time he won it was in 2000. Bloomquist felt secure in his lead and in what he thought was the dominant line at the end of the race, not realizing that McCreadie and Pierce had moved so far up the track or that there was anything worth running on the high side.
"We didn't realize they were that high and I didn't think there much up there to work with." Bloomquist said, "I didn't really get a signal to where they were at on the track. I had no way of knowing. We kind of stayed right in the middle and was pacing ourselves."
